At Last
This is one of my momma's favorites ☺ and every time I have the privilege to sing it, I am moved by the deep and passionate conviction that is expressed with in its lyrics. If you can say that you, also, have found the love of your life, than this song will never fail to resonate with you as well. I just love it! I must say, though, that a deeper meaning of this song was forever etched in my soul when I had the great honor of singing it during the reunion of a group of soldiers with their families. Those of us who are keenly attuned to the process and pain of marking days off a calendar while awaiting the return of our beloved from war will catch the longing in this song (and the relief) on an intensely different level. Truly, now I can't sing it without thinking of it in that light.

Over the Rainbow
This version was originally sung by the late Eva Cassidy. I cried the first time I heard it, though I have heard the song many times before. The longing and sweet hope of "something more" is expressed so beautifully in it. After the release of my cd, I began to get the request to sing this song at funerals and several people offered the explanation that this song represented peace and a fulfillment of a freedom and joy not experienced this side of heaven.

In Christ Alone
As modern hymns are concerned, this one hit a home run – both in music and in theology…what a great song! I love to be standing in a congregation of believers and simply close my eyes and listen to them sing this song in unison together – you ought to try it – it will take your breath away and the goose bumps will linger long after the song has ended. ☺ I am currently a HUGE fan of Keith and Kristyn Getty and the modern hymns that they write together.

No Greater Love
There is a certain beauty in this song that has always captured me. Simple Truth – that there simply is no greater love than that which God has given to us, from the beginning and is never ending...even before we were able to ask Him for it or begin to thank Him for it. Amazing…truly amazing.

Don't Know Why

There are more times in my life than I care to count where I have missed an opportunity to share the love of Christ with someone…and the deep regret that follows…this song is such a great representation of those emotions.

God Speaking
The first time I heard this song, a dear friend was signing it for special music at my Bible Study…and let me tell you that once the tears started, it was hard to make them stop. Wow!

Amazing Grace
You will notice that I only chose to sing 3 verses of this popular hymn, and ended on the 3rd verse (instead of the common 4th). It is important to note that I am a military wife and so very proud to be. I sang this song just as I have sung it for numerous memorials for fallen soldiers. I wanted you to sit with me through this song, if you will, imagining the empty boots, upturned rifle with the helmet on top…I wanted you to imagine their often very young faces portrayed in memory on an easel as well as the faces of the precious families who line the front pews of the chapel…just sit there with me as you listen to this song. It is my hope and heartfelt prayer that God might, through me, offer a little portion of peace and gentle mercy through the words and ministry of this song…His grace, even in the agony of losing a loved one, is ultimately sufficient and so utterly amazing.

All That I Do
Ok. Don't laugh, but my kiddos and I, whenever the long months of deployment would just simply get too long, would put this song on (crazy loud) and dance all around the living room…especially when "all that we could do" was to quite literally, "hold onto" Him. There are so many great memories associated with this song for me. The lyrics are so great and so real. It is just refreshing to listen to and to sing.

When I Need You
A little history: Recently, I had the great privilege of singing this song to several hundred soldiers and their wives right before they deployed to for a long tour. Never have I met such brave and courageous men and women, filled with the deepest sense of pride…it was a really special night.

Heal The Wound
I would probably have to say that watching my husband line up in formation under a huge American flag and then finally marching dutifully out of the hanger to a war across the globe was one of the toughest moments in my life. He was gone 15 months and has since deployed 2 more times. Though I am keenly aware that many, many other men & women have been called to suffer much greater loss, this song stood to remind me of how truly merciful He is…in all struggles, in all suffering, in all pain. I love that the chorus echoes a plea to heal what hurts, but yet, not wanting to forget all that He has been so faithful through either. There is so much to be grateful for.

God Bless America
I have sung this song as they retire the flag after ceremonies, I have sung it at baseball games, prayer breakfasts, and many other events. My favorite was during military appreciation night at a baseball game. All three of my children were with me, Jeff was deployed. And as I walked forward to sing the song before the 7th inning, all three of my children ran to stand by my side. I could hardly sing for the tears in my eyes. They were so proud. With hundreds of people watching, we thanked God for this great nation and asked Him to bless it. It was a great night, one I will never forget.

Our Hope Endures
Never before in our generation has our military servicemen and women (and their families) had to endure a war of this magnitude, both in time and in cost of lives. The weariness that I have seen upon their hearts and souls has been great indeed. Quite honestly, it is hard not to throw up your hands and demand "why!?" Yet, even if this world fails us (and it will)…He is still good. There is hope in that. I don't have to understand it for it to be true. There is an encompassing peace in knowing that it just is.
